Introducing AroFlo’s Gantt Scheduling and Baseline Options Update

Recently our developers have been working hard to bring you the latest addition to AroFlo’s powerful Gantt Chart feature.

Say hello to our Gantt Scheduling and Baseline Options update

If you’re familiar with AroFlo’s Gantt Charts, then you’ll be excited to hear that we’re adding some exceptional new functionality to our flagship project management feature set. You can now schedule tasks from within your Gantt Chart and also create baseline-only views of your Gantt Charts in seconds.

Let’s dive in, and we’ll show you everything you need to know about our latest Gantt Chart update

What’s New?

Increasing the utility of our software is what we aim to do with every new update we bring to AroFlo. With our new Gantt Scheduling functionality, we’ve made it even easier to run your projects, with the ability to schedule work and add users to tasks from within your Gantt itself.

When you double-click a relevant task bar in the Gantt Chart interface, the Task Detail/Schedules window will open. Within this window, you can now add users/assets as you would elsewhere in AroFo and also include any schedule notes, reminders, or event messages as required by the task. AroFlo will then use the schedule dates taken directly from your Gantt Chart, with start and finish times drawn from your indicated hours of work (if applicable).

But the efficiency doesn’t end there. AroFlo’s Gantt Schedules have a two-way communication with the AroFlo Calendar, so any task schedules you add to your Gantt will also automatically appear on your Calendar and vice-versa.

What’s Changed?

We’ve updated the functionality of our Gantt Baselines to accommodate a wider variety of project management needs. If you’re unfamiliar with what a Baseline is, think of it as a snapshot of your original Gantt timeline before making any changes as your project progressed. In other words, Baselines are a static representation of your project in its entirety, and this makes them very useful for project oversight in several ways:

  • View original task or stage dates
  • Report on timeline changes internally
  • Export a copy of the baseline to send to stakeholders

When you navigate to the Baseline dropdown menu (seen below), you’ll now also be presented with the option to either ‘Hide baseline’, ‘Show baseline only’, or ‘Delete baseline’. This update gives you extra utility and additional control over how you present your Gantts to both employees and clients alike, so be sure to try it out!

You can probably already see how much of a difference this functionality will make when managing projects large and small using AroFlo’s Gantts. If you’d like to get started right away, we recommend watching our webinar on the subject or viewing our Help documents covering both Gantt Scheduling and Baseline Options in detail.
